Join us December 1, 2025 with Sejal Fichadia, B.Sc., B. Sc., IBCLC for our final education meeting of 2025! This presentation has been approved 1.5 CERPs for members who attend the live meeting. Pre-registration for this Zoom meeting is required! Topic: Each interaction in lactation care should help establish an oxytocin-rich environment.
Supporting client self-efficacy is a key responsibility of every lactation professional working with the parent-infant dyad. This presentation explores factors beyond latch and positioning, highlighting the importance of nervous system regulation for both parent and baby. The presence of a lactation professional should foster a neurophysiological sense of safety, allowing families to feel calm, open, and fully engaged in feeding and beyond.
Method: Through clinical case studies, videos, photographs, and a lens of compassionate curiosity, we will examine approaches that promote improved client outcomes.
Results: Participants will learn strategies they can integrate into their practice to nurture lasting client self-reliance that extends well past the consultation.
Conclusion: This presentation offers a framework for developing neurophysiologically inclusive feeding plans and supports bridging the gap between breastfeeding initiation and long-term continuation.
