Mastitis: Clinical Implementation of Lymphatic Release with Ellen Chetwynd PhD MPH BSN RN IBCLC

Please join us by registering for our bi-monthly education meeting for this February 1st at 7 pm PST (please note, some participants have experienced trouble registering using the iPhone browser. Zoom recommends that if you are unable to access the link, to try accessing the registration link in an incognito or a private browsing window or to clear your browser cache and cookies.) Topic Overview:

Mastitis is a common condition traditionally viewed as milk stasis progressing to infection. Updated evidence, including ABM Protocol #36, reframes mastitis as a spectrum. This workshop reviews updated breast anatomy and lymphatic physiology to clarify patterns of congestion and inflammatory mastitis.

Participants will learn practical, gentle techniques from Therapeutic Breast Massage for Lactation (TBML) to reduce pain, improve lymphatic flow, and restore milk movement. Findings from a natural experiment demonstrate significant reductions in antibiotic use patterns after TBML was integrated into routine practice, supporting physiologic, evidence-based mastitis care. This webinar equips clinicians with practical, effective, strategies for treating mastitis and demonstrates how they can be practically applied in the clinical setting.
