Pediatric feeding and swallowing issues are never found alone. Dysphagia is NEVER a primary diagnosis. There is always a reason for a feeding/swallowing issue in an infant/adult. Understanding the developing neonatal swallowing mechanism during their NICU stay in relation to infant cognitive development with the complications of the comorbidity which in return influences the behavior/character of an infant is key in understanding how to help in breastfeeding. The presentation will focus on understanding these issues above and why teamwork is always key. The speaker has generously allowed OWLA to share a recording of the presentation. CERPs are not provided for those who watch the recording.
